Creed of the Traveling Writer
_
I believe
in the right to bear pens,
In the necessity by choice of honesty
As the path to deep friendship.
I believe in one pen under God,
Guided and guiding ,
Irrepressible
With freedom and autonomy for All.
I believe in the continuity of wisdom,
Unchanged and unchangeable
From a time when men were men
And monks were waterfowlers!
I hold this truth to be self-evident
That all men and women
In all nations and in all seasons
Have an existential mandate
To leave a legacy of stories
To young minds that need to see
What was encountered and found true
On the Safari of the Spirit!
I believe the Road is more akin to our nature
Than the Castle.
I believe that language is the surest sign
Of the state of a civilization
And without it
The light returns to darkness and void.
I believe in Traveling Writers!
In the necessity by choice of honesty
As the path to deep friendship.
